WOODSTOCK – Today Ernie Hardeman, MPP for Oxford, commended the Woodstock General Hospital on all their hard work to reach today’s announcement that Request for Proposals are being issued. “I want to congratulate everyone – the volunteers, hospital board and the hospital staff for all their efforts that have brought us to this point,” said Hardeman. “It has not been an easy or quick task – there have been many hurdles, extensive planning and a lot of work to be ready for this stage.” Construction of a new Woodstock General Hospital was originally announced in 2000. Since that time the community has worked to raise funds for their portion of the hospital. It was announced earlier this year that they had met and exceeded their goal. “I want to once again thank the community for their generosity and contributions to the new hospital,” said Hardeman. “It is clear that this really will be a community hospital – one that we have built together.” - 30 - For more information, contact:
