| For Immediate Release MEDIA ADVISORY On Tuesday December 6, Ernie Hardeman, Oxford MPP, will reintroduce his private member’s bill, Hawkins Gignac Act (Carbon Monoxide Detectors). This bill requires carbon monoxide alarms in all homes and is named after OPP Constable Laurie Hawkins and her family, Richard, Cassandra and Jordan who perished from carbon monoxide poisoning. A number of supporters of the bill will attend the introduction of the bill, including John Gignac, uncle of Laurie Hawkins, and representatives of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs. The bill will be reintroduced shortly after 3:00 p.m. Following the introduction Ernie Hardeman will be available for comment.
