Ground Breaking time to Celebrate Hard Work

TORONTO – As work begins on the new Woodstock General Hospital site, Ernie Hardeman, MPP for Oxford, took the opportunity to commend and thank everyone who has worked to make the new hospital a reality.

“Since it was announced in 2000 this has been a project embraced by the community,” said Hardeman. “We know the hours and hours of staff and volunteer time that has gone into the planning and supporting this project. I particularly want to commend Natasha Veljovic for her leadership and dedication to the new hospital.”

Construction of a new Woodstock General Hospital was originally announced in 2000. After a long process the contract was officially signed last week. The official groundbreaking ceremony will be held on November 2 but EllisDon, the company constructing the new hospital, will already be working on site.

“This is a very exciting time for everyone in the Woodstock area,” said Hardeman. “I am pleased that community will have access to a state-of-the-art health care facility and that the hard working Woodstock General Staff will have a great new building to help them continue to offer high quality care.”
